CAMEX HOTEL DRAWING OFFICIAL RULES

VALID ONLY IN THE 50 UNITED STATES AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, AND CANADA (EXCLUDING QUEBEC). 

VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. DRAWING NOT OPEN TO GENERAL PUBLIC. OPEN TO CAMEX ATTENDEE REGISTRANTS.

1.  Eligibility: The CAMEX Hotel Drawing (“Drawing”) is open to members of the National Association of College Stores (“NACS”), their employees and affiliates (“Eligible Business”) and registered retail store attendees. To enter this Drawing on behalf of an Eligible Business, you must be (i) an authorized employee of an Eligible Business (ii) who is a legal resident of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia or Canada (RESIDENTS OF THE CANADIAN PROVINCE OF QUEBEC ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CONTEST) and (iii) 18 years or older or above the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence (whichever is greater) as of the date of entry. Employees of Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and suppliers (collectively the “Employees”), and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of Employees are not eligible to participate in the Drawing. The Drawing is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.

2.  Agreement to Official Rules: By participating, entrants (“You”) represent and warrant that You and your employer meet the eligibility requirements. In addition, You and your employer agree to accept the decisions of Sponsor as final and binding on all matters related to this Drawing. By entering, You acknowledge that [a] these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor are binding on You, individually, and the Eligible Business and [b] that the Eligible Business has full knowledge of your actions and has authorized You to enter the Drawing and agree to these Official Rules on its behalf.

3.  Drawing Period: The Drawing begins on September 17, 2024 at 12:00 AM ET and ends on December 13, 2024 at 11:59 PM ET (the “Drawing Period”). Entries submitted before or after the Drawing Period will not be eligible. Sponsor’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Drawing.

4.  How to Enter: You may enter the Drawing by registering to attend CAMEX and reserving at least two night’s accommodations at one of the host hotels, completed through the provided links at www.camex.org/travel.

LIMIT: One entry total per person. Entries that are incomplete or do not adhere to these Official Rules or other specifications provided by Sponsor may be disqualified at the sole discretion of Sponsor. You may not enter more than once by using multiple email addresses or devices in an attempt to circumvent the Official Rules. If You use fraudulent methods or otherwise attempt to circumvent the Official Rules, your submission may be removed from eligibility at the sole discretion of Sponsor. Regardless of method of entry, You must complete all requirements and provide all information required by Sponsor to successfully submit an entry. Incomplete or illegible entries, as determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion, will be deemed invalid. All entries become the property of Sponsor and none will be returned.
 

5.  Prizes: A prize will be awarded to one winner. The winner will receive a free CAMEX Conference & Trade Show registration and free hotel accommodations (room rate and tax only) for up to four nights. The approximate retail value (“ARV”) of the Drawing is $1,000.

All prizes may be subject to taxation pursuant to IRS rules. Any specifics of the prize not detailed in these Official Rules shall be solely determined by Sponsor. No cash or other prize substitution shall be permitted, however, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize with another prize of equal or greater value if the prize is not available for any reason, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. The prize is transferable to another staff member of the same store if winner is unable to attend. No substitution of prize or transfer/assignment of prize to others by winner is permitted. Acceptance of prize by winner constitutes permission for Sponsor to use such winner’s name and likeness for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. All prize details not specified in these rules shall be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsor.

6.  Odds: The odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.

7.  Winner Selection and Notification: Within 5 days of the Drawing Period, Sponsor will randomly select the winner from among all eligible entries submitted during the applicable entry period. Within two days following selection, potential winners will be notified by email at the email address provided to Sponsor at the time of entry. The prize notification message will include details on how potential winners can collect the prize. To claim the prize, potential winners must respond to Sponsor’s message. Sponsor shall have no liability for a potential winner’s failure to receive notices due to spam, junk e-mail, or other security settings or for potential winner’s provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. Sponsor may require potential winners to complete an affidavit of eligibility and a liability/publicity release and/or other documentation to claim the prize. If the potential winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, FAILS TO CLAIM THE PRIZE WITHIN THREE (3) DAYS FROM THE DATE AWARD NOTIFICATION WAS SENT, or fails to timely complete and return any documentation required by Sponsor, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate potential winner selected, in Sponsor’s sole discretion. Receipt of the prize offered in this Drawing is conditioned upon compliance with any and all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Sponsor reserves the right to verify the eligibility of each entrant; if an entrant is found to be ineligible to enter the Promotion his/her entry will be considered invalid. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY WINNER (AS DETERMINED AT SPONSOR’S SOLE DISCRETION) WILL RESULT IN WINNER’S DISQUALIFICATION AS A WINNER OF THE DRAWING, AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.

8.  Rights Granted by You: By entering the Drawing, You understand and agree that Sponsor, anyone acting on behalf of Sponsor, and Sponsor’s licensees, successors, and assigns, shall have the right, where permitted by law, to print, publish, broadcast, distribute, and use in any media now known or hereafter developed, in perpetuity and throughout the world, without limitation, any information, images, or other media about or associated with the Eligible Business or its employees, including any name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, image, statements about the Drawing, and company/biographical information, for news, publicity, information, trade, advertising, public relations, and promotional purposes without any further compensation, notice, review or consent.

9.  General Conditions: Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Drawing should any virus, bug, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or other cause beyond Sponsor’s control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Drawing. In such case, Sponsor may select the potential winner from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Drawing or website/platform upon which it is hosted, violates these Official Rules, including, but not limited to: multiple entries from the same user from different IP addresses; multiple entries from the same computer/account in excess of that allowed by the Official Rules; or the use of bots, macros, scripts, or other technical means for entering. Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Drawing may be a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor may disqualify any entrant who has engaged in conduct intended to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrant, Sponsor, or Sponsor’s representatives, or who otherwise engages in conduct that Sponsor deems to be objectionable or against the spirit of the Drawing, all as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. Proof of sending any communication to Sponsor shall not be deemed proof of receipt of that communication.

10.  Limitation of Liability: By submitting your entry, You agree, on behalf of yourself and the Eligible Business, to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Sponsor and each of its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and each of its respective partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and directors from and against any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from: (i) participation in the Drawing and/or the acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or any portion thereof; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunction of any computer, cable, network, hardware, or software, or other mechanical equipment; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions, telephone, or Internet service; (iv) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Drawing; (v) electronic or human error in the administration of the Drawing or the processing of entries; (vi) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable entries or other correspondence; or (vii) injury or damage to persons or property.

11.  Disputes: THIS DRAWING IS GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF UNITED STATES AND THE STATE OF OHIO WITHOUT RESPECT TO CONFLICT OF LAW DOCTRINES. As a condition of participating in this Drawing, You agree that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved between You or the Eligible Business, on the one hand, and Sponsor, on the other hand, and all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Drawing, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in Ohio having proper jurisdiction. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances shall participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to, all punitive, incidental, or consequential damages (including attorney’s fees), and any other award beyond your actual out-of-pocket expenses to submit your entry (i.e. direct costs associated with entering this Drawing). Participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.

12.  Privacy Policy: Information submitted with an entry is subject to the Sponsor’s privacy policy.

13.  Winners List: To obtain a copy of the winners list or a copy of these Official Rules, email your request to: info@camex.org. Requests must be received no later July 1, 2025.
